Creating a place for meaningful ageing.

India has a growing population of senior citizens who, after retirement, often find themselves isolated due to changing lifestyles, financial limitations, and the fast-paced routines of younger family members. This isolation can lead to loneliness, depression, and a decline in overall well-being.

Recognizing this need, DBM India established the Senior Citizen Activity Center to create a safe, engaging, and supportive space where elders can spend their time meaningfully. The center encouraged them to explore activities they could not pursue earlier due to responsibilities, while also addressing the physical, emotional, and social challenges of old age.

The project aimed to promote companionship, support mental and physical wellness, and enhance the quality of life for senior citizens who had little to no social security or financial support after retirement.
